DMS Accelerator is a project fundraised by the European Union Research and Innovation Program Horizon 2020 in collaboration with Spherik and 9 other consortium partners. The project aims to help SMEs and startups specialized in data to overcome existing barriers in markets. The 50 selected startups will receive training in key topics, delivered by leading experts in their fields.
Which requirements does your startup need to apply?
DMS Accelerator is an online European startup acceleration program for data-centric startups that operate in the area of Agriculture & Food, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Education, Energy & Environment, Finance, Healthcare, Internet of Things, Manufacturing, Professional Services, Retail, Smart Cities & Transport, Space, Sport & Lifestyle.
Be a data-specialized startup founded not later than 2015 from European Union or based in Albania, Armenia Bosnia and Herzegovina, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
During a 6-month acceleration programme, 50 selected startups will receive training in key topics such as GDPR, intellectual property, investment matchmaking & fundraising, legal training, and more. All the training sessions are delivered by leading experts in their fields, from all corners of Europe.
In the past two years, DMS has received more than 350 applications from European startups and SMEs. Here are the highlights of Year 2019 and Year 2020 of the program.
The acceleration process will end with a final event in which the most successful startups of the programme will have access to 3 days of networking activities, exclusive mentoring with experts, group training, 1 to 1 sessions on legal issues and GDPR, as well as the possibility of being in contact with investors and pitch in front of them.
The project is led by ZABALA Innovation Consulting (an international company headquartered in Spain and Brussels) that is in charge of the planning and execution of a set of defined services oriented to data SMEs and start‐ups with the collaboration of different partners: accelerators and incubators: Bright Pixel (Portugal), Spherik (Romania), Spinlab (Germany), The Next Web (The Netherlands); communication Agency: Ogilvy (Spain); Research Universities: Southampton University and King’s College of London; Intellectual property and standardisation: IPTECTOR (Denmark) and W3C (through ERCIM in France).
